1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website, independent of every government office. It does not hold official criminal records, conduct official background checks, retrieve records for users, or file court papers.

Its role is to identify the public offices and systems that maintain Stephens County records, including the Sheriff's Office, County and District Clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. The Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 supplies a request process for existing records held by governmental bodies. Government Code Chapter 411 separately governs confidentiality and dissemination of Texas criminal history record information. Those laws apply to official custodians and do not turn this private website into one.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

• Use any information to threaten, harass, or stalk a person
• Violate a federal, Texas, or local law
• Apply website content to a credit, employment, insurance, or housing decision
• Attempt unauthorized access to any system or account
• Deploy bots, scraping software, or other automated collection tools
• Interfere with the service or prevent another person from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information found here or through a linked resource to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate law. This restriction is especially important for information from the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas law limits misuse of registry data and can impose criminal penalties. Registry information exists for public safety awareness, not vigilante acts, blacklisting, or discriminatory treatment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Stephens County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency as the FCRA defines that term. It does not produce credit reports, consumer reports, or background screening products. Its advertising partners do not offer tools here for decisions about applicants, renters, insurance rates, or credit. You agree not to use information from this website or a linked tool to:

• Make a hiring or termination decision
• Evaluate a tenant or housing applicant
• Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
• Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A check required for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from a compliant provider or the proper official process, not from this website.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing published here is legal advice. General explanations of Stephens County and Texas criminal records cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to a specific person. Seek advice from a licensed Texas attorney for that analysis.
